Rick Hensley, Senior Pastor 

Rick has been serving as Senior Pastor at Faith Community Church since January, 2003.  He served as Assistant Pastor from January 2001 to December 2002.  Originally from Southern California, Rick grew up in San Diego, earned a football scholarship to Cal State University at Long Beach, and eventually graduated with an Engineering degree.  Rick moved to Delaware when the manufacturing firm he worked with relocated him.

While in Delaware Rick became a member of Faith Community Church as a lay person.  As he continued to grow under the teaching of Senior Pastor Ron David and Pastor Russ Jeandell, his hunger for further training grew.  In 1998, Rick responded to God’s call to leave his current career and pursue theological training.  While working on his Master’s of Divinity degree at Talbot School of Theology at Biola University, Ron David asked Rick to consider joining the staff at Faith Community Church upon graduation.  After much prayer, Rick and his wife Kari, had confirmation that God wanted them to return to Delaware.  So began his first pastoral ministry.

Rick has been married to Kari since 1992 and has seven beautiful children (Savanna, Cailin, Brenna, Riley, Josiah, Madelyn and Audrey).  Spending time with his family is one of his greatest joys.   He is finding himself outnumbered in frequent wrestling matches with his children.  His children can never get enough of the fantastical stories that Rick loves to tell them.  He also enjoys those times after the kids go to bed when he and Kari get to pray together, talk, and plan for the future.  Rick also enjoys sports, fishing, and any kind of physical activity when he is not involved in the ministries of the church.
